I have to be completely honest here. Ive been to a fair few gigs mostly big name artists such as Eminem Billy Talent Cory Taylor Avenged Sevenfold and even Kylie Minogue but @amigothedevil was the absolute best of the bunch! An intimate gathering of people who know all the words to all the songs enjoying the unique sound of murderfolk or whatever crossover genre you want to label it. Totally the best gig ever.

Lessons have been learned! Sorry for the (arguably) graphic pics but these are a couple of 16 grey-fly bites I received after my first wild swim. They pinched a bit at the time of the bite which brought my attention to the flies so that I could brush them away however two days later the itching and swelling has started driving me bonkers! So its cream to treat the bites this morning and some Smidge insect repellent to pop in my pack for next time I go out on the moors. So a little warning for you guys if you have not invested in insect repellent for you hiking or camping kit you may want to think about doing so because the last thing you do want is for 6-legged flying fucks to make a meal if you! . . . . . #insectbite #insectbites #insectrepellent #insectbitetreatment #campinghorrorstories #hikinghorrorstory #wildswimming #wildswimminghorrorstory

Its time to return the the real world so as ever Ive packed up and made sure to LEAVE NO TRACE. Ive been pleasantly surprised on this adventure with only TWO pieces of other peoples litter to carry out with me. The first? A small piece of paper barely noticeable but it was right where I wanted to pitch up when I arrived last night. The other is a retractable dog lead. THIS will be my home for tonight after a gruelling 3 hour hike from Burrator Reservoir to wild swim at Crazywell Pool on to Down Tor (another Tor ticked off) only to arrive for my annual camp at Sheepstor to watch the sun set over the water. With temps around 22C its been a pretty rough walk the swim really helped though even if I had to do it in my boxers as I didnt plan ahead! Down Tor was lovely. Would have liked to camp there but its outside of the permitted camping area so NOPE! Sheepstor holds a special place in my heart. It was my second ever camp on Dartmoor and so I like to revisit at least once a year. Roos Tor was so welcoming on Saturday night. I got to enjoy a stunning sunset, an amazing moon, bright stars and horrendous winds that kept me awake most of the night. 😱 Yet somehow, in spite of the wind and lack of sleep, I woke up in the Lanshan 2 Pro feeling truly positive, energetic and proper happy! 😁 I ALWAYS feel “better” when I wake up on Dartmoor in my tent, but this weekend was different. 😎 Was proper ansum! . . . . . #dartmoor #roostor #fullmoon #lanshan2 #nightsky #silohuette #tentlife #wildcamping
