Product Reviews

I enjoy reviewing and testing new gear, however I feel it’s important to provide fair, balanced, and genuine reviews for my audience. I am happy to review products that I believe are a reasonable price, and that my audience will find useful.

By sending products for review you are agreeing to the below terms:

  • I will create a "first impressions" video of your product. This video format includes one or more of the following: 
    • unboxing/opening
    • setup
    • explanation of the product features
    • pricing information
    • my first impression
    • NOTE: This video may take the form of a YouTuber Short or be incorporated into another long form video
  • Full product reviews and updates will be shared as part of subsequent videos (including long-term reviews, product comparisons, and general outdoor/camping videos), once the product has been fully tested by me over time and I feel confident in my opinion.
  • All reviews are unbiased and based on my own opinion
    • As such my review may be either positive or negative and I will not be coerced into a positive review
  • I will not film specific shots, follow scripts or say any specific lines. The product will be showcased in the way I believe fits both my own style and my audience
  • I will include a link and description of your choice in the ‘description’ area of all review videos that contain your product
  • I may also include links as above in future video's, on social media posts, or on LighterPack where your product is seen or featured
  • All videos will be published directly to YouTube without prior review or sign off
  • No products sent for review will be returned and may be used as part of a giveaway to help promote your product, your brand, and the KernowCamps channel
  • I try to publish a minimum of one video per month however this is not always possible due to other commitments. On receipt of your product the ‘first impressions’ will be scheduled into the next available slot. Specific release times can be discussed with at least two months notice
  • Any issues or flaws found in the product will be reported to the providers support team and their support process and experience will be shown and reviewed along with the product itself

Original plans for a halloween camp on Dartmoor with another YouTuber, West Country Wild Camping (Ash) fell through due to last minute complications on my part (sorry Ash). Modifying the OEX Phoxx II for and all-in-one pitch

Changing the Phoxx series of tents from OEX to make them pitched inner and outer at the same time is easy. It only takes a few minutes of effort, two lengths of cord, a stick and a peg. It's so simple, it's unbelievable. This is the reason I made a video about it. To show how easy it is to remove a lot of campers’ biggest issue with this tent and thus making it a lot more useful and useable. I had a great time making this video. While playing with angels and shots, trying to get the best lighting. I enjoy making these videos. They are giving me the chance to learn more about filming than I would on the moors. I don't always have the time to spare. Whenever I can, I should learn more about my filming. It makes it far easier in the editing process and if you know me at all; you know I hate editing! Failed Camp at Cox Tor and the Importance of Coffee when Wild Camping

This camping excursion did not start well. The weather on this particular Sunday afternoon was pretty bleak, wet and windy. Having checked the forecast I knew I wanted to arrive on Dartmoor late in the day to avoid the worst of the weather so Dave and I left home hoping to arrive on the moors around 4pm, which should have given us enough time to climb Cox Tor, visit the trig point, take some photo's and video and get pitched up before sunset. During the drive up I started to get a bit of a headache, but I wasn't too worried as I knew that once my tent was up I could just chill out for the rest of the night. Once I had the car parked near Cox Tor I got my kit strapped to my back and Dave and I set off.
